About Me
Hello and welcome!
My name is Kelly Crull, and this is my website.
kellycrull.com is a collection of essays, articles, and photos from my life as an international living in Spain. I carry a little blue book with me wherever I go, and when something strikes me, I scribble it down. It takes me about a week to write an essay, and I don’t write one every week. In the meantime, I usually end up feeling guilty about not posting, so I post travel photos and service articles about Madrid.
I’m a small-town boy living in a big city. I grew up in the States in Sioux Center, Iowa, population 6,000. Besides living in Amsterdam for a few months, Madrid is my first home away from home. I’ve been living here for a little over 2 years now. I live downtown, which is an experiment, I suppose, to see whether or not I will survive urban life. Ironically enough, I’m finding that Madrid feels more like a village to me than anything else. I love my neighborhood.
I’m married. My wife’s name is April. She’s my best friend. We were married on December 18th, 1999. She’s also a small-town girl from Iowa.
I currently work for a church, although that will change next fall. April and I will be moving to a little town on the Mediterranean called Castell?n. April will be going back to school for a Masters in Peace and Development Studies at the University of Juame I. I’m hoping to work as a web and graphic designer for a non-profit organization.
