Abriendo Puertas Photography Exhibit

Abriendo Puertas Photography Exhibit

My latest photography exhibit, “Abriendo Puertas,” is now on display at the Casa de Cultura in Lugo de Llanera in Asturias, Spain. The older folks who had been students at San Cucao elementary school were invited back to the school to share with the younger generation what it was like to go to their school when they were young. Afterwards, the students at the school gave the older folks a tour of the school, so they could get a sense of how things have changed and what it’s like for children to go to school now.

There were some great moments when an elderly teacher over 90 years old walked back into her old classroom and sat down at her old desk. We all laughed when the kindergarteners tried to teach the older folks the names for colors in English. I got some great shots of some of the kids and the older folks comparing their respective textbooks and writing utensils.

The exhibit is on display at the Casa de Cultura in Lugo de Llanera from May 2nd-18th. Below are a few photos from the opening.
